pluck·y /ˈpləkē/ adjective 'having or showing determined courage in the face of difficulties.' Many of our guests visit us facing great challenges and we are grateful to be able to offer them a safe and affordable place to call home during their visit. The Plucky Place is a shared space. My home has been described as a warm hug. We have a lovely deck and a community vegetable garden. You will share common spaces with me, my husband, my friendly cat Geronimo & our big goofy dog Tyson.

House Rules

We have an indoor/outdoor cat Geronimo, and a big friendly husky mix named Tyson. Guests should be prepared to share space with myself, my husband and my pets. The Bathroom, Bedroom, and downstairs TV Area are reserved for you. The kitchen, outdoor spaces, & laundry room are shared. This is a basement unit. Guest must be comfortable navigating a flight of stairs unassisted.

The bed is a comfy double double and there were plenty of blankets. Bathroom is recently redone. She spent some time making it cozy. We didn’t go to the art places they would provide tickets too. It is a kind gesture.

Words can’t express how fortunate I was to stumble upon Jes’s place. She truly provided me a place to become grounded in a new city without any family or friends present. She and her husband are amazing human beings and embraced me without a second thought. I was able to enjoy privacy in a well appointed living area but also able to socialize with them and the best dog and cat around. This was my first sign that Rochester is a place I could call “home”. If you ever have the opportunity to stay here, do so simply for the experience. Jes is a wildly talented free spirit with an amazing shop downtown called Kismet. I wish them all the best and continued blessings!
